Day 1
Acquaintance with Altai

1. Meeting at the airport of Gorno-Altaisk at 8.50.
2. Breakfast in national altaic dwelling ail and concert of master of throat singing - Kaychi.
3. Visiting of the Anokhin National Museum in the capital of the Altai Republic.
4. A trip along the Chuiskiy Tract with stops for lunch at the "Katusha" cafe, at the Ilgumen rapid, at the confluence of the Katun and Chuya rivers.

We meet our guests at the Gorno-Altaisk airport.

Next we have breakfast in ail - national dwelling. The morning meal is brightened up by the master of traditional Altai instruments playing.

The throat singing is included in the Intangible UNESCO Heritage List, it is a cultural and at the same time esoteric tradition of nomadic peoples of Northern Eurasia.

Skilled kaichi - master of throat singing - is able to imitate the sounds of nature, and also to tell the epic for several days without stopping. In some cases, throat singing serves as a special way of entering into a trance.

Further, visit the Anokhin National Museum in the capital of the Republic. During the individual excursion we learn about the history and modernity of Altai, see the Ukok Plateau exhibition. Here the most famous mummy of Altai is exhibited - the Princess of Ukok - a noble woman of the Scythian Period.

Next we begin our journey to the deep of the Altai Mountains along the Chuyskiy Tract (the road is included in the 10 most beautiful roads of the world according to NatGeo), cross two main passes of Altai - Seminskiy and Chike-Taman, visit one of the most beautiful rapids on the Katun River - Ilgumenskiy. Here you can see the full power of the mountain river. Then we visit the confluence of the Katun and Chuya rivers, that is sacred for the Altai people (Chui-Oozy).

Clothes and shoes recommendations for the day - any clothes, in the morning it can be cool at the airport, so it is desirable to have a sweater, sweatshirt or light jacket - look at the weather forecast the day before. For evening walks on the banks of the Katun, it is better to have a warm sweatshirt and water resistant jacket.

Day 2
Belovodye

Distance - 340 km (by car)
Accommodation - Hotel Kovcheg
Food - breakfast - Inegen, lunch - dining room of Ust-Kan village or in Yabogan village, dinner at the Hotel Kovcheg

1. In the morning, anyone can meet the dawn over the Katun River.
2. Breakfast and departure to the most famous petroglyphs complex of Altai - Kalbak-Tash.
3. After the excursion we go to the Uimonskiy Valley, have lunch on the way in the ail - the traditional dwelling of the Altai peoples in the Yabogan Village or the dining room of Ust-Kan Village.

Uimonskiy Valley is located near the highest mountain of Siberia and Altai - sacred Belukha. Here, between the Katun and Koksa rivers, for several centuries the Old Believers (a kind of Russian Orthodox Church followers) compactly live, preserving the traditional way of life and lifestyle. These places are traditionally called Belovodye, by analogy with the land of justice of the ancient Slavs.

4. In the evening accommodation in the hotel Kovcheg, have dinner and rest, those who wish, go to the bathhouse.

Day 3
Dawn over Belukha

Distance - 50 km (by off-road vehicle) in one direction.
Accommodation - Campground
Food - breakfast at the hotel Kovcheg, lunch and dinner in the field

1. Very early departure by UAZ cars to the Bashtalinskoe Plateau. We meet the dawn over the Uimonskiy Valley and admire the burning Belukha. The main mountain of Siberia is visible only in clear weather. In case of rain, we refrain from traveling, as the road is very washed away and the Belukha is hidden by clouds.

2. We return to the hotel, have breakfast and begin our "autonomous voyage" outside of civilization. We go to the Krasnaya Gorka mountain by off-road vehicles.

3. Lunch in a picturesque place.

4. We walk among the lakes and alpine meadows, climb the mountain.

5. If our team is athletic, young and perky guests who love moderate risk and drive (team A), we set up a field camp at the lower lake. We have dinner and spend the night in tents.

Tents can be as triple, where they sleep two by two, or large tents, where the whole team can fit. The type of tent is chosen in advance at the request of the participants. Sleeping bags, mats are also included.

If there are children and aged people in the group, and the participants prefer a calm rafting, when you can even take a nap in the raft, then the whole team returnsfor a dinner and spend the night at the Hotel Kovcheg in Ust-Koksa - this is team B)

Clothes and shoes recommendations for the day - you should have trekking boots, gaiters, thermal underwear, pants and a hoodie (jacket), preferably a windblock, as well as membrane waterproof trousers and water resistant jacket, you are given clothes, a helmet and a life jacket. It is desirable to have a down vest, hat, gloves in case of cold weather. Do not forget the flashlight and remember that you need to have sets of clothes for rafting, for camp and always dry for sleeping. If there are dew or rain, it is convenient to have galoshes or semi-boots for the campground. Do not forget the spare socks.

Day 4
Taiga river

Distance - 50 km (by off-road vehicle), river rafting 3-4 hours
Accommodation - Campground
Food - breakfast at the Hotel Kovcheg (for team B), lunch and dinner in the field

Team A, all food at the campground.

1. Team A for four hours go to the place of the rafting beginning by GAZ-66 (equipment is taken by a tractor and horses), instruction and getting equipment for rafting - oars, helmets, life jackets, splash-proof suits, which are sufficient for both types of rafting.

We start rafting with rapids, waves and accelerations, when you need to paddle and listen to commands of instructors. Rafts are not turned over unless the team asks to turn over them. several small rafts can be used, or one huge, at the request of the group. The total length of the rafting is 50 km.

2. If version B, the group go up the Koksa River and also begins a calm and peaceful rafting after instruction and getting equipment. Total length of the rafting 60 km.

In both cases, the rafting is taken in the wild taiga through the cleanest rivers, from which can drink. Food is prepared in the field, tents for the night are placed in picturesque places on the shore or on islands in the middle of the river. Before the eyes of the guests discover the wonderful views of untouched Siberian nature. You can see these places only move along the rivers.

Day 7

Roerich and Old Believers

Distance - 30 km (by car)
Accommodation - Hotel Kovcheg

1. After breakfast we go to the Verkh-Uimon Village, where we visit two unique museums.

2. History and Culture Museum of the Uimonskiy Valley (Old Believers Museum). For more than half century Raisa Pavlovna Kuchuganova collects a collection of exhibits and oral folklore. She is fascinating to tell about the life and culture of the Old Believers. It is known that they settled in Altai at the turn of the 18-19 centuries in search of better life.

3. In the Museum of the Roerichs you learn about the Roerich's Central Asian Expedition, about the life and work of a famous family. See world-famous painter's unique reproductions and originals paintings.

4. We dine and listen to the concert of the folklore ensemble Siberiya.

5. Dinner and rest before tomorrow's long journey.

Day 8
The best bathhouse of Siberia

Distance - 450 km (by car)
Accommodation - Zoloto Altaya Lodge
Food - breakfast - hotel Kovcheg, lunch - ethno-hotel Derevnya Berendeyevka, dinner - complex Zoloto Altaya.

1. In the early morning we have breakfast and start a rather long trip to the famous Sandunovskiy bathhouse near the town Belokurikha.

3. In the evening we arrive at the surprisingly hospitable complex Zoloto Altaya (Sanduny Altai). We take a steam in the best bathhouses of Altai and spend the night in a cozy manor, which is located at the foot of the Cherginsky mountain range near the Belokurikha resort. It is widely known for thermal radon springs and healing mountain air.

4. Today we live in houses of Siberian Pine tree timbers, which are artfully designed in the Russian style. Each room is unique, as all elements of the decor are made by craftsmen's hands with great love. Ritual dolls, paintings on the ceiling and furniture, a panel with roosters and cats, handmade lace pillows and napkins: we guarantee that you not find two identical decorations. Here everything is saturated by warmth and kindness.

5. The pride of the tourist complex is the famous Sandunovskiy bathhouses (this are the oldest and most famous bathhouses in Moscow, which were built in 1808). A few years ago, masters of bathhouse crafting from Sanduny decided to open their bathhouses in Altai. And they made, perhaps, the best bathhouses in Siberia, they are light, made from aspen timbers; with a stone heater of cast iron and semiprecious stones (jadeite), which gives light steam, youth and health. Bathhouse are heated by birch wood, and oak bath brooms are specially brought from the Krasnodar Territory.

6. We surely take a steam in bathhouse, bathe in a vat of oregano, eucalyptus and chamomile decoction, dive into the ice font and enjoy a delicious dinner at the restaurant of the complex.
